Peachtree Corners Swim and Racquet Club Members:
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are expecting
a bright and prosperous New Year. The highly anticipated membership applications will be arriving soon. The
PCSR Club Board is looking forward to an outstanding year at the Club and is sure
you will want to be a part of it!
Knowing the good things in store for PCSR members, I wanted
to encourage you to help spread the word and enhance our Club membership rosters.
Since finding new members is so important to the club’s success, the PCSR Club
Board is challenging each membership family to bring in a new family to the club
(but we accept non-family members as well of course). Remember, recruiting a new member to the club gets you a
membership discount and also enhances the activities that the Club can offer.
The other part of financial stability for the club (besides
membership) is through cost cutting measures. The PCSR Club board has been very successful in cutting
costs. This past year, through examining our expenses and a few belt tightening
measures, the Club saved over six thousand dollars. In addition to this, we received $17,639 from Gwinnett County in back taxes by having them re-categorize
our Club. This will provide
year-over-year savings as well through reduced taxation.
The return
of the tax overpayments will go a long way towards the Club’s next Capitol Project:
resurfacing 2 of the Club’s 4 tennis courts. PCSR Club currently has $28K to apply towards the total $48K
cost (~60% of goal). The project
will begin as soon as we have the down-payment ($30K) and the first year of
quarterly payments* ($6K) set aside in savings (in addition to a normal reserve
fund needed for unexpected expenditures). We currently need $8,000 to start the project and then
an additional $12,000 to cover the final two installments since getting the
project started is only the first step. We, as a Club, need to be sure that we can cover the entire cost of the
tennis court renovations.
*The company performing the work has
offer to start the project with $30K and the club then has three years to pay
off the $18K (in quarterly installments) at 0% interest.
I understand that many Club members do not play tennis;
however, the future success of the Club as a whole depends on swimming and
tennis collectively. The
Club would not be financially viable without the tennis courts; so, I am asking
all of the members of the Peachtree Corners Swim and Tennis Club to contribute
to the success of the Club by donating to help supplement the cost of the
tennis court renovations. If each member made a donation to the tennis courts
we could cover the cost of the entire repair in the first year! Wouldn’t that be a wonderful way to start the new 2012 Swim
and Tennis Seasons!
We have three donation levels of $100, $200 or $300
dollars. Of course, if you would like to donate more we would love to have
it. You can donate in a number of
ways.
1. Send your donation with your membership form and
dues (please state in the memo line of the check the amount of your donation).
2. Send a check payable to PCSR directly to the Club
at P. O. Box 920096 Norcross, GA 30010
3. Or send money through PayPal “please only use this for donations as the
club loses 6% of the total money” The Club would prefer checks so as not to
lose donated money in fees. For example if 100 families gave $300 each the club
would lose $1800:
a. Go to www.PayPal.com
b. Setup a free account or login if already a
member
c. Go to Send Money
d. Send Payment Online to
peachtreecorners@gmail.com
Thank you for helping to make the PCSR Club the best in the
area! If you have any questions,
please feel free to email me at: atodebush@gmail.com.
Again, thank you for your participation in our great Club.
