Tennis Rules
It is the
intent of Peachtree Corners Swim and Racquet Club to allow for the
optimum use of the tennis courts in the fairest possible manner. Rules
cannot be developed to cover every situation. Therefore, we ask everyone
to use common courtesy and observe tennis etiquette. Please read the
rules and employ them in the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship. COURT RULES
- Court
hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Lights will turn off automatically at
11:00 p.m. Turn off lights when not in use. Please check to make sure
no one else is waiting to use the courts before turning off the lights.
The lights will not come on for 20 minutes after being shut off.
- Proper
tennis attire is required. No cut offs, swim suits, street clothes,
etc., will be worn. Shirts must be worn at all times. Only regulation
tennis shoes are allowed on the courts. Jogging shoes, basketball shoes
or shoes with heels are not allowed. Shoes other than regulation tennis
shoes will destroy the surface of the courts and cannot be allowed.
- Courts are reserved for tennis players only.
- No
food or beverage, other than water or sports drinks in non-glass
containers will be allowed inside the courts. Alcoholic beverages are
allowed at the tennis courts, outside the fence, for adults who are of
legal drinking age.
- Special Tennis Club functions, as
approved by the Club, such as ALTA/USTA practices and matches; Club
events and tournaments will take preference. Please refer to the
ALTA/USTA Team Tennis Sections.
RESERVATIONS
We
are pleased to announce that our tennis court reservations will now be
handled by ReserveMyCourt.com. This service will allow you to check on
court availability and make reservations from the internet or via a
toll-free telephone number. All court reservations will be handled
through this system, so please follow the instructions below to begin.
- Go to www.reservemycourt.com and click on Player Sign-Up to setup a new player account.
- Select PEACHTREE CORNERS S&R as your Home Facility.
- Enter our Facility Code: (same as court combination lock)
- Fill
in the remainder of your information and click SUBMIT. For telephone
reservation user code use something like last 4 digits of ss#.
- Login at www.reservemycourt.com
or call 1-877-ON-COURT (662-6878) anytime day or night to reserve
courts. Players can register courts online or using the phone and
receive confirmations via email or text messages. Players should bring
the confirmation to the court as "proof" that they have reserved the
court.
- Reservations are limited to one 2 hour
session, with the exception of team tennis practice. Consecutive sign
ups are not permitted.
- Reservations not kept within 15 minutes are forfeited.
- Cancellations should be made as soon as possible as a courtesy to others. No-shows may result in loss of reservation privileges.
- Court
prime time is 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends
and holidays. During this time, adults have priority over junior members
(under 18) and children who are not playing a match. Junior members and
children should relinquish the court courteously when asked to do so.
- Children (under 10) may not use the courts unless accompanied by an adult member.
- Families
should restrict play to one court whenever there are other members
waiting to play. A family may reserve only one court at any time.
MEMBERS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lock all gates and turn off all lights when leaving.
- Keep the court area clean and litter free.
- Know, enforce and abide by all of the tennis rules. Please report any violations to the Tennis Chair.
- Clean up after any pets.
ALTA/USTA TEAM TENNIS
- Team captainssponsors must be members.
- Team
captains will advise Tennis Chair of plans to field a team prior to
submitting their roster, and will obtain the approval of the Tennis
Chair prior to conducting team practices.
- The Tennis Chair will
organize the club schedule for all of the team practices. They will also
schedule team practices during the week so that only 1 team at a time
is practicing.
- Team practices will only be conducted on the days designated by the Tennis Chair. Team practices may not be made up.
- Each team can reserve up to 2 courts for practices for 2 hours.
- Each team can reserve up to 3 courts for matches.
- Team
matches will be held based on the ALTA/USTA schedule each season. If
most of the matches on a given week could not be played as scheduled,
because of inclement weather, the team captain will reschedule the match
to the teams’ normally scheduled practice night. If only one or two of
the matches remain to be played, they may be scheduled on an individual
basis.
- Delayed or rescheduled "away" matches will not be played
on Peachtree Corners tennis courts. The "HOME TEAM" is responsible for
providing courts for delayed or rescheduled matches. Peachtree Corners
teams may use their scheduled practice time for match play if they
desire.
- Members playing on another facilities’ team may not use PCSRC courts for their matches.
- Team
captains are responsible for cleaning up the tennis courts, bleachers,
tables, etc and emptying the trash after each home match. A supply of
trashcan liners will be kept in the storage bin next to the bleachers.
NON-MEMBER ALTA/USTA TEAM PLAYER GUIDELINES
- Adult
non-club members may be added to an ALTA/USTA team for a fee of $40.00
per session (a session being a 7 week season plus playoffs). Child
non-club members will be charged $10.00 per session.
- The team
captain is responsible for collecting any non-member fees and turning
them into the Tennis Chairman. The fees are due by the 2nd week of the season. If the fees are not received by the 2nd week, a $10 late fee will be applied. Non-members will not be allowed to play if fees are not collected by the 3rd week of the season.
- Captains
are responsible for informing their team and guest team that the pool
is open for access to the bathrooms only (and not to the play area).
- The board may revoke this opportunity if it is abused or creates any problems with the general membership.
